Delivering Global EOR and Payroll Services for a network of aircraft, defense, industrial and finance businesses

Complexity, fragmented processes and compliance risks topped the list of issues facing our client’s procurement team dealing with non-FTE workers. They were managing more than five different external suppliers providing contractor payroll services. That structure created challenges with communication, quality, costs and process governance managing their external labor. They needed to reduce the overall risk.

EOR and Payroll Services
BUSINESS CHALLENGE

Our client is a $12.4 billion company, with a worldwide presence supported by 33,000 people in more than 25 countries. To maintain their position as an industry leader, they rely on the immense talent of our workforce to continue the evolution of aircraft, rotorcraft, armored vehicles, electrical vehicles and automotive systems. With such a large, dispersed workforce they struggled to manage their non-FTE employees across multiple locations and business units. To close the gap they established a payroll unification and transformation project to identify a sole provider that could manage their complex environment.

They needed a partner that could manage their operational complexities while simultaneously addressing potential privacy risks and data accuracy concerns across multiple continents.

SOLUTION

TekWissen was selected to be the sole payroll employer of record (EOR). This allowed our client to take advantage of our LGBT diversity status and claim all the spend in a diverse category. We partnered with the client to standardize their non-FTE onboarding processes by creating a workflow, documenting handoffs between teams and built reporting.

We improved quality of service by adding a dedicated service delivery team that enabled expedited inquiry response rates, and created a framework to help stakeholders obtain greater visibility into major operational issues in specific business units real-time. We also established a formal communication framework to track performance and provide the client with regular visibility into every contractor engagement, from onboarding through to offboarding.

RESULTS DELIVERED

TekWissen is currently supporting over 150 highly-skilled contractors per month across four affiliates and various business units within each. We built a quality assurance/training team focused on improving standardized processes. We revised monthly business reviews to stimulate greater engagement with a broader range of stakeholders.

Key Statistics:
  • Created an offboarding compliance process that saved the client almost $1M in lost/non-returned equipment (PCs and other testing equipment)
  • Created a volume rebate structure that saved the client an additional $150K - $250K annually
  • Developed and implemented a Power BI dashboard that provides a consolidated view of all service metrics.
